THE BATTLE AHEAD Aspirations are not of those alone, who fight the battle but of the ones too, who endure the neglect because of the conflict. Martyrs are not just the people who give their lives to protect the sovereignty of their great nations, but also the dreams, dreams of those who stomach the enemy?s aggression at the line of fire, generation after generation. ‘The Battle Ahead’ is the story of a young girl, fighting for her rightful place in the society, belonging to an otherwise peaceful neighborhood in a state that’s marred by conflict right from its inception. The story peeks into the life of Srishti, a girl full of life and unbounded energy, whose dreams are ought to be martyred at the verge of completion, in an effort to sustain a society that is challenged for its demographic existence. It brings out the ugly, unspoken truth about the terrain of Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) that bears little political relevance in the public discourse and heated discussions about Nationalism. The story is woven around the much talked about and now abrogated Article 370 and 35 A of Jammu and Kashmir and how it had affected the lives of people belonging to the place.
