Tushar Choksi is a sincere seeker of the reality of human experience since his childhood days. Due to the undercurrent force of spirituality and the desire to be a good human, he practiced meditation and studied Vedantic scriptures for more than twenty-five years. During his life, he studied in-depth and participated in various activities based on the Vedantic tradition. One major activity he has been part of for most of his life is the activity of Swadhyay inspired by Pujya Padurang Shastri Athavale.
• Can you tell us something about yourself?
Tushar Choksi is a sincere seeker of the reality of human experience since his childhood days. Due to the undercurrent force of spirituality and the desire to be a good human, he practiced meditation and studied the Vedantic scriptures for more than twenty-five years. During his life, he studied in-depth and participated in various activities based on the Vedantic tradition. One major activity he has been part of for most of his life is the activity of Swadhyay inspired by PujyaPadurang Shastri Athavale. He was also engrossed in the teachings of Shri Ramkrishna and Vivekananda, and the tradition of Arsha Vidya of Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Currently, Tushar conducts classes on Vedant and continues his study of Vedant.
Professionally, I am a software engineer (M.S. Comp. Sci.) and I worked mainly in the USA and INDIA.
• How is your book different than others?
This is an original work on Vedant and human suffering. How Vendant removes human suffering is the main focus of the book. It penetrates human personality and discovers its connection with self-ignorance. Not many books are written on the topic of the connection of self-knowledge with human happiness.
• Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
I found the solution of human issues in the knowledge of the self which can be arrived at through discrimination based on the human experience as guided by Vedant. This book is a contribution to understanding the Vedant tradition and a human being. The ideas in the book show, how a human being can evolve to the highest potential of human life in the light of Vedant. These ideas are born as a result of applying the wisdom of Vedant in everyday life in order to improve the quality of human life to its ultimate well-being.
• What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?
The Indian ancient knowledge of how to be at peace, be happy, and secure can be communicated and passed through the vehicle of words to the world around you.
• What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
I found the interest and time to be a full-time writer after the morning routine of exercise, prayer, etc.
• What do you think makes a good story?
A good story is that which solves the human story of everyday struggle, suffering and brings harmony and order in one’s life.
• What is your writing process like?
My writing process is gradually evolving and emphasizing important concepts with increasing clarity and removing confusion.
• What advice do you have for writers?
The writers can create a better world by evolving and guiding the thinking, actions, relations, and emotions of a human being in the direction of peace, solutions, and harmony. One’s writing should not be for mere entertaining aim but creative and useful for everybody. The writing should invoke humanness and divinity in man.
• How did this story occur to you?
The story occurs to me because of the goodwill to share the wisdom and out of my years of experience and learning in Vedant.
• What is the book all about?
This is an original work on Vedant and human suffering. How Vendant removes human suffering is the main focus of the book. It penetrates human personality and discovers its connection with self-knowledge. It finds out the root of human being’s emotions, thoughts, and sensations.
The second half of the book explains meditation, dharma, family life, self-inquiry as Vedantic tools to develop and achieve the full potential of human life – Absolute happiness and immortality.
